What's new in RapidMiner Radoop 9.8

This release of Radoop greatly increases the connectivity experience for enterprises, both from the user's and network administrator's perspective.

Radoop Proxy connections in projects and repositories

Radoop Proxy connections are now supported in the recently introduced projects and new remote repositories. This completes the picture of Radoop Proxy connectivity in our offering.

Full Radoop Proxy traffic coverage

Until now, depending on the Hadoop cluster vendor and version, the Key Management Service and Timeline Service components of the cluster required their own firewall pinholes. With this update, all traffic required for Radoop to function correctly can flow through the Radoop Proxy. This also means that opening a single TCP port will be sufficient for correct operation, further easing and securing access, and helping network administrators.

Auto-suggested Radoop connection names for imported connections

If you need to juggle multiple connections, it's good to have a solid naming convention. For imported Radoop connections this is now done automatically. When you import a connection, you get an auto-suggested name containing useful info at a glance, such as the date of import. You can easily choose a different name for your connection, as previously.

Compatibility

Please note that as part of this release RapidMiner Radoop restricted its backwards compatibility and requires at least RapidMiner Studio 9.8 (or higher) and optionally RapidMiner AI Hub 9.8 (or higher). Update is available through the RapidMiner Marketplace.
